Twirl Tag ~ PSP9

This tutorial was written for Paint Shop Pro 9, but can be done in other versions,
as long as you are familiar with the one you have.

Let's Begin!

Open a new image 400 x 400, and flood fill with white.

Using the Preset Shapes tool, draw a circle from 100, 100 to 300, 300.
Stroke is Black.
No fill.

Create a new layer.

Using the Airbrush and the green gradient, with the settings below, add a spray of color as shown, using the vector circle as a placement guide.





Now, change to the gold pattern fill, and apply the gold as shown.



Go to Effects/Distortion Effects/Twirl and set the degrees at 180. Click OK. Delete the vector layer.

Create a new layer and center your tube on it, resizing the tube as necessary.

Use Eye Candy 4000/Shadowlab and these settings to add a drop shadow.



Repeat the drop shadow, changing the Center Offset Direction to 135, and the Center Offset Distance to 5.

Use the crop tool and the following settings to crop your image:



With the Pen Tool, draw a single vector line at a pleasing angle.



Resize your image so that the longest side is not more than 350 pixels.

Sharpen each layer 1 time.

Create a new layer and using the Text tool, apply your text. Stroke and fill are the gold gradient.




Sharpen 2 times.

Add a drop shadow using these settings:
Vertical and Horizontal=2
Opacity=100
Blur=4.9
Color=Black

Deselect.

Delete the vector layer.

Merge and save as a .jpg.
